About Us
Our mission is clear: to support students in their pursuit of higher education and professional dreams. Through scholarships, mentorship, and cultural enrichment, we strive to remove barriers and open doors of opportunity for the next generation of leaders.
The Need
of college students rely on financial aid to pursue their degrees
Scholarships are more critical than ever. Nationally, more than 80% of college students rely on financial aid to pursue their degrees, and many talented young people face financial challenges that threaten their educational journey. By raising funds through the Carnivale Mystique Annual Mardi Gras Scholarship Gala, we ensure that deserving Houston-area high school seniors have the resources they need to thrive academically and professionally.
Honorees & Legacy
This celebration also honors the extraordinary leadership and service of community partners and individuals whose dedication to education, mentorship, and cultural development continues to inspire generations. By recognizing their legacy, we highlight the values of resilience, excellence, and empowerment that define both DECF and HMAC.
Invitation to Participate
We invite you to join us in this transformative mission. Whether by becoming a sponsor, purchasing tickets, or making a donation, your support directly impacts students' lives and strengthens our community. Together, we can expand opportunities, preserve heritage, and build a brighter future.
